Barone di Villagrande

Barone di Villagrande works on the eastern slopes of Salina, where vineyards climb up to 700 meters on volcanic soil, overlooking the rest of the Aeolian archipelago. Ten generations of family cultivation converge in two denominations. The first is Malvasia delle Lipari DOC, an unusual blend of Malvasia di Lipari and Corinto nero that branches into white, passito, and liquoroso versions; the second is the Salina IGT range, with whites, reds, and rosés. The thread that unites the two labels is the volcanic matrix: the same dark, porous stone that imparts mineral tension and savoriness to the wines. Here, family tradition is not a still image but an open workshop, where accumulated experience meets today's oenological ambition. The estate welcomes visitors: those who ascend the terraces of Salina can taste the Malvasia in its three versions and the Salina IGT wines directly in the place that generates them, with the Aeolian Islands as their horizon.
