CANTINE MARISA CUOMO GRAN FUROR DIVINA COSTIERA S.R.L
Furore · Province of Salerno · Campania
On the sheer cliffs of Furore, above the Amalfi Coast, the vines of Cantine Marisa Cuomo plunge into limestone rock, in an amphitheater where the sun and the reflection of the sea orchestrate the scene. Since 1980, Andrea Ferraioli and Marisa Cuomo have cultivated ten hectares of steep terraces, with the winery carved into the stone: a setup that is already a declaration of method. From Aglianico, Piedirosso, and Coda di Volpe grapes, whites and reds are born that retain the mineral tension of this vertical stretch of Campania. Five denominations delineate a coherent geography of the Salerno area: the Castel San Lorenzo DOC and Cilento DOC, the Paestum IGT and Colli di Salerno IGT, up to Cilento in its DOP guise. Not a dispersed collection, but variations of the same coastal landscape, also recognized by international critics. The winery is open to visitors: it's worth the descent to Furore to see the terraces overlooking the sea and taste the wines from the very stone where they originate.
