Cascina del Colle

From the slopes of Villamagna, a hilly village at three hundred meters where vines have been cultivated for over six centuries, Cascina del Colle interprets six Abruzzese DOCs. Montepulciano remains the cornerstone: the twelve square kilometers of the municipality constitute the regional epicenter for this grape variety, which here finds a dry terroir where mountain ruggedness meets Adriatic mildness. Around this red revolve the other expressions — Trebbiano and the Abruzzo denominations, the rosé Cerasuolo, and the reds of Villamagna and Controguerra — in a range that covers the region's main typologies. The family management, rooted for sixty years, combines heritage and experimentation without forcing the hand of the territory. The result is wines that tell the story of a landscape more than a style, measured by the character of a wind-swept hill tempered by the sea. The estate welcomes visitors: a stop in the cellar allows one to understand, glass after glass, how six centuries of Montepulciano have settled into these hills.
