Guicciardini Strozzi

Guicciardini Strozzi has documented unbroken vineyard stewardship since 994, when a parchment in San Gimignano's state archives first recorded the estate. Eight centuries before Dante named Vernaccia as the sole wine in his Purgatorio, the variety was already regulated and taxed by the commune. Today, the winery tends those same vineyards and welcomes visitors to discover how Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG—a mineral white of minimum 11.5% alcohol—connects directly to medieval Tuscan commerce and Renaissance tables where Lorenzo il Magnifico once served it.
