Morellino di Scansano DOCGToscano IGT
Poggio Argentiera was established in 1997 on the foundation of an early 1900s estate, planted where the Maremma's reclaimed lands now thrive. From its original six hectares producing Morellino di Scansano, the winery expanded in 2001 to twenty productive hectares, adding higher-elevation vineyard plots in Scansano's Bacinello zone. The contrasting terroirs—sandy, limy soils on the lower slopes and mineral-rich, rocky terrain at altitude—yield distinct expressions of Sangiovese and complementary varietals within the Morellino DOCG framework.
