Riviera del Brenta
Wine · PDO · 40 municipalities
Recognised since 2006, the Riviera del Brenta DOC spans 40 Veneto municipalities, including Borgoricco and Campagna Lupia. What distinguishes this denomination is the precise composition of its base blends. The Rosso requires a majority anchor of at least 50% Merlot, complemented by non-aromatic red varieties like Raboso and Refosco, yielding a dry, velvety wine of at least 10.5% volume. Conversely, the Bianco mandates a minimum of 50% Tocai Friulano. For Cabernet, Raboso, or Refosco to qualify as Riserva, growers must restrict yields to 12 tonnes per hectare and age the wine for at least two years.
