Bisuschio

In the pre-Alpine foothills of northern Varese, the small community of Bisuschio, home to some 4,200 residents, nourishes a surprising agricultural variety, hosting 15 protected denominations. The town's damp, hilly woodlands provide the perfect forage for Miele Varesino DOP, a delicate acacia honey produced in a zone of 136 municipalities. These same slopes yield Ronchi Varesini IGT wines, crafted across a zone of 94 municipalities. Most notably, the alpine pastures surrounding Bisuschio sustain the raw goat's milk required for Formaggella del Luinese DOP, a historic cheese restricted to just 66 local municipalities.
