Possagno

In this small Treviso community of just over two thousand residents, the pre-Alpine slopes shape a unique microclimate for agriculture. Possagno’s terrain nurtures 22 protected designations of origin, led by highly localized treasures. Here, the stony soils yield the sweet, forest-scented Marroni del Monfenera IGP chestnuts, shared with only seventeen other municipalities. The same slopes foster the vines behind the crisp Asolo Prosecco DOCG, a sparkling wine defined by alpine breezes. This sharp transition from mountain to plain creates an intense thermal range, concentrating sugars in the chestnuts and preserving acidity in the grapes.
