What grows here
Crevalcore
20 protected denominations overlap in this municipality.
In the marsh-carved lowlands of the Terre d’Acqua basin north of Bologna, Crevalcore’s moist soils and damp climate yield highly specialized agricultural treasures. This watery terrain, which earned the settlement official city status in 2000, shapes a local agricultural zone overlapping with 20 protected denominations. Chief among these is Castelfranco Emilia IGT, a wine rooted in a micro-region of just 19 municipalities. The alluvial plains also nourish crisp Reno DOC vines and sweet Melone Mantovano IGP. Here, the humid flatlands act as a natural greenhouse, focusing sugars and acidity in every harvest.
