ALESSANDRIA MARILENA Az. Agr.
La Morra · Province of Cuneo · Piemonte
In La Morra, one of the villages where Nebbiolo reaches its peak complexity, Alessandria Marilena works with four DOCG denominations divided into two contrasting registers. On the more demanding side are Barolo and Barbaresco, the two monuments of the grape: wines that require 38 and 26 months of aging respectively, and minimum alcohol levels of 13.0% and 12.5%, a measure of the time and structure that the area demands. Alongside these giants, the winery also maintains a more immediate register with Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba and Dogliani, reds crafted from a different grape and with shorter aging times. These are not secondary players but another interpretation of the same Cuneo terroir: where Nebbiolo demands patience and rigor, Dolcetto immediately offers its fruit and the touch of the soil. Together, the four labels illustrate the full expressive range of the Langhe, from long-aging wines to those ready for immediate enjoyment.
