AltaVigna
Taurasi · Province of Avellino · Campania
AltaVigna interprets the Campanian volcanic terroir through three protected denominations that stretch between Vesuvius and the Pompeian plain. The Vesuvio DOC, Pompeiano IGT, and Catalanesca del Monte Somma IGT delineate a triangle of lava soils where Piedirosso, Aglianico, and Coda di Volpe find distinct expressions, ranging from robust reds to whites with a volcanic texture. Founded in 2008 by Emanuele Sepe, a prominent figure in Campanian viticulture since the 1980s, the company is now led by his son Gaetano along with his brothers Andrea and Emanuele. This generational transition channels decades of regional knowledge into every vintage and translates the ancient viticultural lineage of Irpinia, the foundation of the project, into contemporary wines. The three denominations are not merely a geographical range but three ways of questioning the same volcanic origin, where the indigenous variety remains the measure by which the character of the soil and the essence of each vintage are judged.
