AZIENDA AGRICOLA FEDERICO CASTELLUCCI
Montecarotto · Province of Ancona · Marche
In Montecarotto, amidst the hills where Vernaccia di Serrapetrona and Verdicchio classico coexist, Azienda Agricola Federico Castellucci cultivates four denominations, all DOCG. The current vineyard was established in 1966 by Corrado, Federico's father, marking the transition from mixed farming to specialized viticulture, a tradition carried on for three generations. The portfolio is divided by vocation. On one side are the great Verdicchio wines for aging, Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Riserva, which require time to fully express the grape's mineral component. On the other, two expressions broaden the view to the Marche region: Cònero, a structured red, and Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, which brings the narrative back to the estate's original territory. It's a range built on contrasts, where the reserve whites converse with an important red and a less common local denomination, showcasing the ampelographic breadth of this part of the region without getting lost among too many labels.
