BRICCO CIARLA s.s.a
Treiso · Province of Cuneo · Piemonte
On a Treiso hilltop, Bricco Ciarla carries forward a legacy dating back to 1962, when Massimo's grandfather acquired the estate. Today, Matteo and Massimo vinify four DOCG denominations that tell the story of two souls of the Langhe: Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco, with their rigorous aging — 38 and 26 months respectively — and the more immediate Dolcetto, expressed as Dogliani and Diano d'Alba. The two directly manage the rows, where alongside the appellation varieties, Barbera, Freisa, and Moscato also grow: an ampelographic map that translates the hilly terroir into bottles intrinsically linked to their land. The work in the vineyard precedes that in the cellar, and from that order arises the coherence between austere wines for long aging and those for immediate enjoyment. Visitors to Treiso can tour the winery and explore this geography in a single tasting, moving from Nebbiolo reds to the more fragrant expressions of Dolcetto, guided by those who personally cultivate these rows.
