Cantina del Fucino

On the sunny slopes of Paterno dei Marsi, a hamlet of Avezzano, Cantina del Fucino cultivates an unusually broad range for a single entity: six Abruzzese denominations, all under the DOC regime. These include the great regional names — Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, and the broader Abruzzo — alongside more circumscribed areas like Controguerra and Villamagna. The thread that binds this range together is the soil of the Fucino plain and viticultural knowledge passed down through generations, directed towards vintage wines conceived to evolve over time. From the Montepulciano reds, aged for at least ten months, to the crisp-sipping Trebbiano, each bottle reflects precisely conducted fermentation and the agricultural yield of this internal Abruzzo basin. More than on the quantity of labels, the winery's identity lies in its ability to reveal, denomination after denomination, the different facets of the same territory.
