CASCINA POGGIA di Le Thi Tung
Montegrosso d'Asti · Province of Asti · Piemonte
Cascina Poggia occupies the sunny slopes of Montegrosso d'Asti, where just over three hectares of vineyard tell the story of four generations of the Curto family, starting in 1892. Today, Massimiliano Curto and his wife Le Thi Tung are leading the winery through a quiet renaissance, marked by small batches and new plantings of Nebbiolo alongside their customary work. The cornerstone remains the Barbera d'Asti, aged for at least four months, around which the other two Piedmontese denominations of the house revolve: Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato and Terre Alfieri, all three labels of DOCG rank. It's a range that brings together heritage and measured ambition, where clay and limestone influence every harvest and dictate a cautious rather than expansive pace. The limited scale is not a constraint but a deliberate choice: to cultivate a few rows of vines with care, allowing the hilly soil, rather than volume, to define the wines' profile.
