Gotto d'Oro

Gotto d'Oro traces its roots to July 1945, when 41 winemakers in Marino established a cooperative to serve Rome's wine-drinking public. Founded in a war-damaged facility and operating from its earliest days with the iconic red wine cart of the Agro Romano—still emblazoned on every bottle—the cellar has grown from hand-labelled fiascos to modern production. Today it crafts Roma DOC whites and red blends from Cesanese, Sangiovese, and Cabernet, drawing grapes from the historic vineyards of Marino and Frascati that ring the capital.
