Pinot nero dell'Oltrepò Pavese
Wine · PDO · 41 municipalities
In the hills of Lombardy, spanning 41 municipalities including Borgo Priolo and Bosnasco, the Pinot nero dell'Oltrepò Pavese DOC sets a distinct standard for varietal focus. Unlike neighboring denominations with broader styles, this designation permits only two specific red wine categories: a base bottling and a riserva. Both require a minimum of 95% Pinot nero grapes and a maximum yield of 12.0 tons per hectare. For the riserva, aging must begin on November 1st of the harvest year and include at least 6 months in wood. All final wines must be packaged exclusively in glass containers of 5 litres or less.
