Besozzo

Besozzo’s unique position, where the flowing Bardello River carves a path through the hills linking Lake Varese to the expansive waters of Lake Maggiore, shapes a microclimate that nurtures 15 protected denominations. The humid, breezy lake-land air defines the aging process of Formaggella del Luinese DOP, a goat's milk cheese limited to a production zone of 66 municipalities. This hilly terrain also yields the crisp, mineral-forward Ronchi Varesini IGT wines, cultivated on steep terraced slopes. The surrounding woodland blooms fuel the production of Miele Varesino DOP, a single-flower acacia honey that captures the Alpine-foothill terroir.
