Brione

Situated in the mountainous pre-Alpine landscape of Brescia in Lombardy, Brione’s high-altitude slopes shape its distinct agricultural output. The municipality is one of only 19 communes authorized to produce Nostrano Valtrompia DOP, a prestigious, saffron-infused cheese made from the milk of cows grazing these high pastures. Further down the slopes, sunny hillside vineyards feed the production of Sebino IGT wines. In total, Brione's unique territory yields 18 protected denominations, demonstrating how this specific geographic pocket bridges rugged alpine dairy heritages with the fertile valleys of northern Italy.
