Casaleone

In the flat, water-rich lowlands of southern Verona province, home to some 5,700 residents, Casaleone’s damp alluvial soils provide the ideal terroir for highly specialized crops. This wetland environment directly shapes Riso Nano Vialone Veronese IGP, cultivated across a selective zone of 24 municipalities, where pure resurgence waters flood the plains. Sharing these fertile fields is the crisp Radicchio di Verona IGP, which thrives in the cold winter microclimate of a 55-municipality area. From these muddy soils rise two of the region's most distinctive and tightly geographically defined culinary treasures.
