Sorgà

Sorgà’s flat landscape in the southernmost reaches of the Verona province provides the ideal alluvial environment for water-dependent crops. This specialized terrain hosts 17 protected designations, led by Riso Nano Vialone Veronese IGP, which is cultivated across a restricted zone of 24 municipalities. Fed by pure resurgence waters, these paddy fields share the silty soils with Radicchio di Verona IGP. The local climate, with its damp winter frosts, concentrates the sugars in the chicory and suits the vines of Verona IGT, turning this lowland commune into a productive agricultural enclave.
