In the flat, spring-fed lowlands south of Verona, Trevenzuolo harnesses its damp, mineral-rich soils to nurture some of northeastern Italy's most distinctive flavors. This small, agricultural community of 2,800 residents anchors the cultivation zone for Riso Nano Vialone Veronese IGP, a prized rice variety grown across just 24 local municipalities. The chilly winters and damp earth also yield the crisp Radicchio di Verona IGP. In total, Trevenzuolo’s unique terroir supports 17 protected denominations, where ancient hydraulic networks turn the plain's natural hydrology into a fertile cradle for exceptional grains and winter crops.
