The saline, sandy dunes of Mesola, located in the eastern lowlands of the Ferrara province, shape a unique agricultural identity where land and Adriatic waters meet. This coastal environment of 6,307 residents is the ideal birthplace for Bosco Eliceo DOC, a rare wine cultivated across a restricted zone of 8 municipalities. The brackish wetlands also nurture Riso del Delta del Po IGP, a resilient cereal that thrives in these reclaimed alluvial soils. In total, Mesola’s distinctive terroir contributes to 19 protected denominations, blending maritime influences with centuries of river-delta farming.
