Ottana

In the rugged interior of Nuoro, where just over two thousand residents preserve ancient central Sardinian customs, Ottana’s granite-edged soils nurture exceptional viticulture. This specific terroir feeds the prestigious Barbagia IGT, a wine designation restricted to a tight zone of just 15 municipalities. The dry, wind-swept hillsides also yield the broader Provincia di Nuoro IGT. These extreme conditions concentrate sugars and character in the grapes, making this pocket of Sardinia a powerhouse for robust reds. In total, Ottana shares in 16 protected denominations, proving that this sparse landscape produces some of the island's most concentrated flavors.
