In Alba, on the hills where Nebbiolo finds its most complete expressions, Adriano Marco e Vittorio works with four controlled guarantee denominations. Two originate from Nebbiolo and mark its long aging times: Barolo, which demands thirty-eight months of aging, and Barbaresco, set at a minimum of twenty-six. The other two translate Dolcetto into two contiguous but distinct territorial interpretations, those of Dogliani and Diano d'Alba, a grape variety that here sheds any ease to become a wine of character. The range extends across dozens of Langhe municipalities, each with its own soil and exposure imprint, and yields a catalog of reds that spans from the severe structure of Nebbiolo to the more immediate fruitiness of Dolcetto.
