Aganis

Without a declared headquarters but firmly rooted in Friuli, Aganis works across three DOCG denominations of the eastern hills—Colli Orientali del Friuli Picolit, Rosazzo, and Ramandolo—each with its own specific requirements. Between Rosazzo and the Colli Orientali, white wines made from Friulano and Sauvignon seek a mineral clarity that is a hallmark of these slopes. The thread that unites these three areas is Picolit, a rare grape variety offered both as a still and a passito wine, capable of reaching 15% alcohol and encapsulating the winery's territorial ambition. Around its vineyards, Aganis adopts integrated pest management protocols, treating the land as something to preserve rather than exploit, so that each harvest brings forth the intact integrity of its place. The winery is not open to the public: its connection to these three Friulian DOCGs relies entirely on the wines, testaments to a philosophy that prioritizes ecosystem health over yield and interprets each parcel according to its exact demands.
