AZ. AGR. PETRARA

AZ. AGR. Petrara spreads its work across four Marche DOCG denominations, in a range that spans the region from side to side. From Vernaccia di Serrapetrona come the most unique expressions, derived from Vernaccia nera in sparkling and red forms; from Cònero, the blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese, aged twenty-four months before release. To these are added two Verdicchio riserva wines, both aged eighteen months but from different origins: one from the eight municipalities of Matelica, the other from the extensive Castelli di Jesi area. It's a portfolio built on contrasts of terroir rather than quantity: the age-worthy red from Cònero, the sparkling Vernaccia nera, the dual interpretation of Verdicchio between a restricted area and an extended denomination. Each label adheres to its own specific production regulations, with timings and grape varieties that define its character. The diversity of the Marche region, here, is not just a label but the very criterion by which the company organizes its range.
