AZIENDA AGRICOLA "LA MERAVIGNA" DI BORGHI DIEGO
Ancona · Province of Ancona · Marche
In the Ancona hinterland, La Meravigna by Diego Borghi oversees four denominations distributed among the most significant areas of Marche. The most unique offering is Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, the only sparkling wine crafted from the Vernaccia nera grape, available in both spumante and red versions; alongside it is Cònero, a structured red aged for at least twenty-four months. The white wine chapter is entrusted to Verdicchio in its two most acclaimed reserves, Matelica and Castelli di Jesi, both subjected to eighteen months of aging that extend their longevity. Together, these four labels trace a journey through the region's grape varieties and terroirs, from the sparkling wines of the interior to the reds of the promontory, and on to the long-aged whites and their distinct geographical origins. The cellar opens its doors for tastings: it's advisable to book a tasting to sequentially explore this Marche map and grasp, glass by glass, the distinctions and relationships between the four denominations.
