Anguria Reggiana IGP

In the valleys of Novellara, in the province of Reggio Emilia, the Zarantonello family has been cultivating Anguria Reggiana IGP since 1925, now in its third generation. Pierluigi, Paolo, and his son Matteo work the fields with meticulous attention to quality, cultivating round, oval, and elongated varieties known for their sweet and flavorful flesh. The fruits make their way to the general markets of Milan and the shelves of large retailers, but the most recognizable sign of the farm remains on the road: a perfectly functional 1974 yellow Fiat 500, which circulates among the three direct sales points, announcing the arrival of the harvest. It's a detail that speaks volumes about this family's way of being in the world, a deep-rooted connection to the Reggio Emilia territory that needs no grand declarations and is instead measured in the continuity of an agricultural practice repeated for a century, and in the care of a seasonal product that remains tied to its land of origin.
