Azienda Vinicola Federici

East of the capital, among the municipalities of Zagarolo, Azienda Vinicola Federici has been operating since 1960 within the Roma DOC denomination, producing reds, whites, and sweet wines that accompany the evolution of Lazio's taste. Four generations have succeeded one another on these lands, but 2001 marked a turning point: the decision to directly manage the vineyard, to control grape quality and aim for more demanding standards. In the vineyard, local traditional and imported grape varieties coexist—Montepulciano, Cesanese, and Sangiovese alongside Cabernet—composing a range that reflects both rootedness and openness. The single denomination does not limit ambition but concentrates it on a precise territory: the hills east of Rome. The winery opens its doors to visitors: a stop in Zagarolo allows one to closely follow the work of four generations and understand how a family winery has navigated over sixty years of Lazio's wine history.
