Patata del Fucino IGP

Barbarossa Federico cultivates the Fucino plain in Abruzzo, a plateau that centuries of reclamation have transformed into fertile, mineral-rich land. It is here, within the protected area of nine municipalities, that the Patata del Fucino IGP takes shape, a tuber linked to an ancient lake basin and the particular conditions of this drained bed. Cultivation aims for uniformity: potatoes with firm flesh and clean skin, the result of careful agronomic control rather than shortcuts. Each harvest yields regular tubers, where the character of the soil is evident in their texture and firmness. Around Avezzano, potato cultivation has become a defining feature of the territory, and the IGP sets its geographical and qualitative boundaries. Barbarossa Federico's work falls within this perimeter, interpreting a product where terroir and field discipline are as important as the choice of variety.
