BARCAGLIONI CESARE

Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva DOCGCònero DOCGVerdicchio di Matelica Riserva DOCG+1

Barcaglioni Cesare oversees four DOCG denominations in Marche, a collection that combines rarity and longevity. At one extreme of singularity is Vernaccia nera di Serrapetrona, a sparkling red grape known in few places worldwide; at the other extreme of structure are the reds of Cònero, which require two years of aging before release. Between these two poles lie the two great expressions of Verdicchio, the Riserva di Matelica and that of Castelli di Jesi, each subjected to eighteen months of aging to build complexity. This portfolio reveals a deliberate choice rather than a random collection: highly territorialized whites and reds destined to last, all rooted in indigenous grape varieties and strict regulations. Time is the constant that holds the spectrum together, expressed in different months depending on the denomination but always imposed as a condition. The result is a portrait of viticultural Marche, interpreted through its most demanding production standards, where longevity is not an accessory but the very criterion by which each wine is conceived.
