Barone Pizzini Poderi di Ghiaccioforte

At the beginning of the 2000s, Barone Pizzini acquired a property in Scansano overlooking the sea, with Monte Amiata at its back. Conversion to organic farming followed swiftly, seen not as a superficial choice but as the most direct way to let the Maremma terroir speak for itself. Sangiovese, Trebbiano Toscano, and Canaiolo Nero form the backbone of their production under the Toscano IGT denomination. Here, wine is born from the encounter between human effort and the rhythms of the earth, in a balance the winery pursues without forcing. The result remains inextricably linked to this corner of the Grosseto province: hills open to the coast, light that ripens the grapes, an idea of Maremma that rejects standardization. The IGT denomination, often considered lesser, here becomes a space to exercise interpretive freedom that stricter regulations would not allow, without ever losing its connection to the Maremma soil.
