BEPPE VULCANO

Beppe Vulcano's legacy has a date and a place: around 1935, grandfather Peppino founded the first family winery in Cirò, divided between the palazzo in the Portello district and a coastal warehouse near the train station. Three generations later, Beppe has revitalized that structure with contemporary ambition, establishing the company among Calabria's leading wine producers. The work focuses on the Classica area of Cirò DOC, where Gaglioppo finds its most significant regional terroir in the volcanic soils, and extends to the nearby Melissa DOC: two Crotone denominations that define the company's scope. The red wines span a range from fresh and immediate expressions to more layered superiore riserva bottlings, each marked by the mineral precision that Gaglioppo imparts in this ancient landscape. It is a production that unites memory and craft: the palazzo and the station, the 1930s foundation and today's cellar, with neither erasing the other but rather making it its own measure.
