BIGI ANDREA
San Paolo di Jesi · Province of Ancona · Marche
From San Paolo di Jesi, Andrea Bigi brings together four DOCG wines that represent the oenological peaks of the Marche region, alternating whites and reds from different areas. Verdicchio takes center stage in the portfolio with two reserves—the Verdicchio di Matelica and the Castelli di Jesi—both aged eighteen months, one more mineral, the other marked by its hilly terroir. On the red side, the Cònero is born from Montepulciano and Sangiovese and rests twenty-four months in the bottle, building structure and longevity. Completing the picture is the rare Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, where a black grape of volcanic origin yields both sparkling and red wine, a rather uncommon case in the national landscape. Each label reflects the standards and character of its denomination. The winery is not open to visitors, but its range draws a compact map of the most demanding Marche denominations.
