BRACCO

In the Collio Goriziano, near the San Giorgio hill, Bracco has planted its vines since 1881, when Mattia Brach began cultivation. Wars and shifting borders—including 1915, which devastated the vineyards of Brazzano—have not interrupted the transmission of this viticultural heritage from generation to generation, on land once Austro-Hungarian and now Italian. The sole denomination, Collio Goriziano DOC, is expressed in white and red wines crafted from the symbolic varieties of this border region: Ribolla gialla, Pinot grigio, Chardonnay, Friulano, and other aromatic grapes. More than a list of labels, it's an ampelographic portrait of Collio, where each grape variety offers a different interpretation of the same land. The winery welcomes visitors for on-site tastings: a direct way to explore, glass after glass, the geography and genealogy of this eastern corner of Italy.
