From Cupramontana, Gabriele Brega oversees four top-tier denominations, a range that spans the most recognizable terroirs of Marche. The focal point is Verdicchio, expressed in two distinct Riserva wines—Matelica and Castelli di Jesi—aged for at least eighteen months: two interpretations of the same grape variety, one more taut and mountainous, the other broader and more hilly, both marked by the mineral signature that Verdicchio can develop over time. Alongside these are two expressions that broaden the portfolio. Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, crafted from Vernaccia nera, splits into a vibrant sparkling wine and a structured red, while Cònero, aged for two years, channels Montepulciano and Sangiovese into an austere and layered red. No concessions are made to easy softness: Brega trusts the expressive power of the Adriatic stone and the hillside fruit, allowing aging and the grape variety to dictate the character. It is a viticulture of precision, bringing together long-lived whites and enduring reds without losing the accent of the territory.
