🏡 Tastings & visitsCarmignano DOCGToscano IGT

The vineyards of Capezzana, in Carmignano, have been cultivating vines for twelve centuries: a Florentine parchment documents wine production as early as 804. The Contini Bonacossi family acquired the estate and expanded it by uniting several properties—Trefiano, Cerretino, and Poggetto—and in 1938 equipped it with a state-of-the-art cellar, cementing the continuity of the place with modern viticulture. Today, the company operates with two key references: the DOCG di Carmignano, which yields its red wines crafted from Sangiovese, Canaiolo nero, and Cabernet, aged for at least twenty months, and the IGT Toscano, which broadens the range. The tasting room is open to visitors: in Carmignano, one can directly experience this intertwining of ancient history and contemporary winemaking, following the thread of the red wines that made the estate's name and observing how such an ancient origin continues to express itself in modern-style wines.
