Casa Raia

Casa Raia occupies terraced vineyards directly beneath Montalcino's medieval walls, in the Scarnacuoia site, where Sangiovese has been rooted for two centuries. Founded in 2006 by Pierre Jean Monnoyer, the estate practices organic viticulture deeply embedded in the unique terroir of Val d'Orcia, with an attention to place that precedes every cellar decision. From this Sangiovese comes the estate's sole denomination, Brunello di Montalcino, aged in wood for the time necessary to develop the structure and complexity that define this Tuscan label. The approach is that of a winery that translates the place into wine with conscious craftsmanship, allowing exposure, altitude, and soil to dictate the profile before any intervention. It is a Brunello that reads like a map of its own hillside: precise, vertical, measured by Montalcino's long timeline, where the denomination is not a formula but the result of a land and a hand that choose subtraction.
