Cascina Goregn

Roero DOCG

On the sandy slopes of Roero, across the Tanaro river from the Langhe, Cascina Goregn interprets a single denomination through its two souls. On one side, Nebbiolo, which in leaner soils builds reds of vertical structure and mineral cut; on the other, Arneis, the white grape that has made this side of Piedmont famous, rendered in taut and crisp versions that capture the calcareous matrix of the soil. Still and sparkling wines are born from long aging periods, with maturation extending up to twenty months, each bottle calibrated to what altitude and clays can express in the nineteen municipalities of Roero. The territory, often seen as a lesser version of the Langhe, here asserts its own character: fossil sands, steep hills, a microclimate that emphasizes both fruit and freshness. Cascina Goregn works with this dual register — red and white, structure and tension — as a key to understanding a landscape all its own.
