Ferragosto Emilio

Ferragosto Emilio tends peach trees in the heart of Leonforte, a town in Enna's inland plateau where the late-ripening Pesca di Leonforte thrives. This IGP-protected variety matures from September through November, developing complexity that early-season fruits cannot match. Each peach is bagged on the branch—a labor-intensive practice that shields the fruit from insects and weather while concentrating sugars. Working within the five-municipality production zone, Ferragosto captures the specific terroir of central Sicily's plateau, where volcanic soil and mountain air define the peach's distinctive character and extended season.
