Stomennano

Stomennano stands within Monteriggioni's medieval fortifications, where Sangiovese vines claim ground once marked by Roman settlement. Written records place the borgo itself as far back as 1059, its name possibly echoing "strumentum pacis"—instrument of peace—from treaties between local populations and Roman occupants. Today, the estate produces Chianti Classico rosso under the iconic Gallo Nero seal, reformed in 2013, pressing grapes across vineyards interspersed with ancient olive groves and woodland.
