Villanova Truschedu

In the ancient, sparsely populated Barigadu hills of Oristano, Villanova Truschedu shapes a distinct viticultural identity. This quiet village of under three hundred residents provides the rugged, sun-baked volcanic soils essential for the coastal-influenced Tharros IGT. This highly localized wine denomination, spanning a production zone of 78 municipalities, thrives in the dry Mediterranean microclimate. In total, this small territory claims 19 protected denominations, where historic isolation has preserved rare, native grape clones that channel the saline sea winds sweeping across this western Sardinian landscape.
