Here, sandy soils and salty sea winds nurture the vines of Carignano del Sulcis DOC, a highly localized red wine shared among a tight zone of just 17 municipalities. This maritime climate also shapes other regional specialties, contributing to the 19 protected denominations that overlap in this territory.
