Sant'Antioco

Rising from the coastal ruins of Sulki, one of the Western Mediterranean's oldest urban settlements, Sant'Antioco nurtures a viticultural heritage shaped by maritime winds and sandy soils. This historic island setting yields highly distinctive flavors, most notably the Carignano del Sulcis DOC, a robust red wine cultivated within a limited zone of 17 municipalities. In total, 19 protected denominations overlap in this territory, where ancient maritime trade routes once thrived. The persistent sea breezes and sun-baked soils ensure that these local wines and traditional cheeses like Fiore Sardo DOP retain an unmistakable coastal character born directly from antiquity.
