Abrigo Fratelli

🏡 Tastings & visitsAlta Langa DOCG

On the sunny hill of the Berfi hamlet in Diano d'Alba, Abrigo Fratelli has been producing sparkling wine since 1935, when the family chose this Langhe ridge as their permanent base. The estate works with a single denomination, Alta Langa DOCG, offered in white and rosé versions: a Metodo Classico born from Pinot nero and Chardonnay, the two grape varieties underpinning the entire project. Today, Ernesto Abrigo and his sister Mariarita manage the winery according to established family principles, representing the third generation to interpret this same terroir. The bottles rest for at least thirty months on the lees, a period during which the bubbles gain complexity and that acidic backbone distinguishing Piedmontese high-altitude sparkling wines. This production is deliberately confined to a single brand, where depth replaces breadth. The estate opens its doors for tastings: those who ascend to Berfi will find an opportunity to taste Alta Langa in its two forms and engage directly with three generations of winemaking knowledge, amidst the rows overlooking the hill.
