Agricola Moranda di Capurso Soc. Semplice Agr.
Verona · Province of Verona · Veneto
In Valpantena, one of the valleys descending towards Verona, Agricola Moranda di Capurso interprets two red pinnacles of Valpolicella, both DOCG: Amarone and Recioto. The work rests on the classic trio of the area—Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella—and on a careful interpretation of appassimento, the technique that concentrates the grapes before fermentation. From that foundation, two opposite yet complementary outcomes emerge: the dense sweetness of Recioto, where the dried grapes retain sugar and fruit, and the dry power of Amarone, aged twenty-two months before bottling. Generations of work among the rows have solidified this approach, which aims each vintage to capture the character of the terroir rather than chasing a particular style. The company opens its doors to visitors precisely to showcase the journey from grape cluster to bottle: it's worth a stop to see how, through appassimento, the dual red soul of Valpolicella is born.
