Agrinatura Soc. Agricola Semplice

Sicilia IGPSicilia DOC

Agrinatura Soc. Agricola Semplice operates across the vast Sicilian territory under two distinct denominations. The first is Sicilia IGP, under which it produces extra virgin olive oil conforming to clear standards: a maximum acidity of 0.5% and polyphenols over 100 mg/kg, with characteristic notes of green tomato. The second is Sicilia DOC, which shifts the focus to wine. On the wine-making front, the company draws on the island's black grape varieties — Nero d'Avola, Frappato, and Nerello Mascalese among the main ones — for reds, but also whites and rosés, within an area encompassing 391 municipalities. The two designations together tell the story of Sicily's dual agricultural vocation, olive and vine, held under a single geographical origin but with separate production specifications and parameters. It's a production profile that spans the pantry and the cellar, measured each time by the required numbers: the acidity threshold for oil, the varietal range for wine.
