ALARIO CLAUDIO Az Agr.
Diano d'Alba · Province of Cuneo · Piemonte
In Diano d'Alba, within the Cuneo Langhe, three generations of vineyard work have shaped Alario Claudio's approach to two pivotal grape varieties: Dolcetto and Nebbiolo. The distinctive feature is the meticulous interpretation of Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba, offered in three separate versions, each from specific Sorì (vineyard crus) with soils and microclimates that impart individual characteristics to the wine. Around this core, the portfolio expands to four prominent denominations: in addition to the Dolcetto dianese, there are Barbaresco, Dogliani, and Barolo, the latter requiring thirty-eight months of aging before release. The result is a journey that intertwines the finesse of Langhe Nebbiolo with the immediate territorial expression of Dolcetto, never straying from the cru logic. The winery welcomes visitors: a trip to Diano d'Alba allows one to follow the journey from vineyard to bottle, observing how the expression of each Sorì guides production choices, and to taste side-by-side the different souls of the same hillside.
