Atlantis

From Berchidda, on the Gallura side of northeastern Sardinia, Atlantis produces a single wine: Vermentino di Gallura, the only DOCG denomination on the island. The area is vast—twenty-three municipalities facing the coast—and the winery expresses its character in three distinct styles, from still to spumante and frizzante, each maintained above the 12% alcohol threshold required by the disciplinare. This grape variety finds its ideal expression here: the proximity to the sea and granite soils dictate a clear minerality and a citrusy note that Atlantis doesn't soften but rather embraces. The still version conveys the fruit's clarity, the spumante extends its freshness, and the frizzante plays on immediate drinkability. Three interpretations of a single raw material, united by the same crispness. The result is a Vermentino that rejects opulence in favor of precision, where acidity supports the whole and salinity defines the finish. A coherent portrait of a coastal terroir that speaks through white wine and its variations.
